Tainted Love Director Kevin Crowley

I thought I would take some time during the end of our run (our last show goes up in approximately 35 minutes) to talk a little bit about our director, Kevin Crowley.  Unfortunately owing to teaching and other professional commitments, he has not been able to attend most of our performances.  However, without his comedic insight and ability to get actors (most notably Chris Dooley and Emily Fightmaster), Tainted Love would have been a radically different production.  Kevin was responsible for Tyler breaking the fourth wall and asking who Steve is talking to during two of his monologues, as well as the cell phone throwing scenes, the number of Zombies roaming the ZQZ (I had initially written the play for four people and one swing Zombie), as well as the interesting homoerotic business going on when Steve finds Tyler packing to leave Los Angeles.

It has been a pleasure to work with Kevin because his sharp eye for comedic and dramatic detail sharpened this play considerably.  I hope to work with him again on another project soon.
